Life is so much richer when you take a moment to notice all the natural beauty that surrounds you, every day. The thing I love most about photography is that it allows me to preserve these beautiful moments forever. Watching children grow over months and years, seeing families evolve from generation to generation, and finding a stunning landscape to create a truly magical image – these are the things about being a photographer that make my heart happy!
I have been an artist all my life. I was born in Charlotte, and adopted as an infant by the most incredible parents I could have imagined. I grew up in Durham (pronounced dur-‘m 🙂 and art was a huge part of my childhood. Wall murals, watercolor paintings and charcoal drawings allowed me to develop my ‘artistic eye’ and I learned the basics of photography when I entered high school. I have memories of darkrooms and pinhole cameras, but my passion for digital art solidified while I was studying at Wake Forest University.
In 2002 I graduated with a Bachelors in Communications and pursued a successful career in advertising sales, but it came at the expense of taking time from family and friends. In 2008 my world came crashing down when my father passed away unexpectedly. He was my role model and the biggest supporter of my artwork.
Today I try to remind myself to live every day as if it may be my last, to do what you love!! and surround yourself with the people who are most important in your life. <3
My husband and I have 2 boys, Will (3) and Charlie (1). We live a happy life with our 2 dogs and 2 cats in Lake Wylie. We love the outdoors and spend most of our time hiking, playing by the lake or at the neighborhood playground. I also adore all things vintage and love incorporating them into my photography sessions.
Art is my passion, the camera is my brush and capturing the joys of life is like painting on a canvas.
I want to hear your story, watch your family grow and establish a relationship that will last as we work together for many years to come!
